We transcend ourselves when, say, we're afraid to leave our home and instead of giving in to our fear, we step outside the door and go do whatever we have to do.
We transcend ourselves every time we release ourselves from the domination of fearful thoughts that may have once imprisoned us. When we step outside that door, we transcend ourselves when we release our actions to our muscles, which know how to walk even when our brains want to tell us that we're too afraid to.
The simplest of actions, buying the groceries when we feel crowded by other shoppers, driving the car when we feel we get lost easily, speaking pleasantly or not at all (including our body language) when ego-centred fear and anger want to lash out: these simple actions transcend old fears and transform us.
When we keep on doing these simple, bold, direct actions of courage, we lose the fear and we grow into ever greater courage. We learn to respect others' courage and our own, knowing that one person's Everest may be just getting out of bed.
While we can gain inspiration from others, we never have to evaluate or compare ourselves and what we are doing with others' actions. All we have to do is just do it, just do and be the courage to transcend and transform ourselves.
We can transcend ourselves. We can transform ourselves.
Our lives can become magic worlds of knowing ourselves now to have growing courage, growing conviction, ever-growing capacity to live our lives fully and harmoniously.
